Sensory Ride
The Sensory Ride was mainly constructed with money from the donation from the estate of the late Mrs E Merry in 1998.
We have a plaque on the outdoor stable, which is at the centre of the Sensory Ride, as an acknowledgement of our indebtedness. Mrs Merry gave the centre a gift which is enjoyed by so many people.
There is also a dedication to Joan Clarkson, in recognition of her work for the Centre.
Members of the Centre have added plants and worked hard to keep the Sensory Ride in good order - here is a video of the Ride, which is situated beside the Centre and a still picture of one set of flowerbeds in May 2004.
You will need to download the movie clip to run it - this website isn't large enough to support running it online - here's a link to Quicktime (for Apple computers) and also Microsoft Real player, for PC) if you don't already have a video player on your computer. (Most computers already have one)

The main part of the Sensory Ride is circular - around tall pine trees and an outdoor stable, at the centre. This clip looks from the front of the ride, starting from the side of the Centre, across to the Outdoor Stables, with plaques of dedication, to the side bordering on the road. It then pans back again to the Tack Room.

Work on the Sensory Ride continues. It's aim is to give riders who are visually challenged, extra sights and sounds to experience, whilst on horseback, but it is also enjoyed by all our riders, as it has many interesting features.
